The intern position within Mirati’s Analytical Research & Development and QC group will have the opportunity to learn and develop skill sets required for developing best-in-class oncology therapies. This person will gain a deeper level understanding in the analytical methodologies used for nominating and developing small molecules used in clinical trials, e.g., High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Mass Spectrometry, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), Dissolution, and other physicochemical techniques for developing drug substance and drug products. He/She will work with highly technical scientists responsible for the Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC) of new product development and acquire essential expertise in designing experiments, analyzing data, and interpreting results routinely used in Analytical Development.
This is an internship designed to commence in Summer 2023 full-time and may extend through the year on a part-time basis.
Your Responsibilities
Gain knowledge on analytical methodologies used to characterize drug substance and drug products.
Assist in critical studies for selecting small molecules and formulations for First-in-Human (FIH) clinical studies.
Develop an understanding in analytical method development, validation, and troubleshooting for critical assays.
Familiarize yourself with fundamental aspects associated with the regulations and guidance for drug product development, e.g., 21 CFR, ICH, EMEA, FDA, and United States Pharmacopeia (USP).
Perform and record analyses as assigned daily.
What is Required
Candidate must be a current student in good academic standing and completed, at minimum, upper division of undergraduate program or enrolled in a graduate program in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry or other life sciences related fields.
Availability to work 40 hours/week during summer break with additonal opportunities during the academic year

Salary Range:
$23.00 - $25.00 / hour
