Job Description Summary

The Senior Director, Community Oncology Team Lead is an experienced, field-based oncology professional with oversight of community oncology medical engagement in support of Mirati assets. The Community Oncology Team Lead will be both player and coach, responsible for directly managing the Community Oncology Team (COT), as well as providing direct external engagement with community focused stakeholders through clinical, scientific, and value discussions.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and mentor the Community Oncology Team
  • Provide coaching and guidance to COT members, including observations of community stakeholder interactions
  • Deep understanding of the community oncology segment in the US, key stakeholders in community oncology, and healthcare landscape (i.e. reimbursement/access, diagnostic testing, care delivery)
  • Drive execution of the strategic near and long-term medical vision and strategy, specific to community oncology, that incorporates opportunities for collaboration, communication, and education
  • Facilitate and engage in scientific exchange with community oncology stakeholders, in support of Mirati assets
  • Share regional actionable insights/learnings to develop the community oncology and broader medical strategy
  • Collaborate with other cross-functional internal and field colleagues (i.e., commercial sales and market access, RMADs, RHODs, Medical Strategy, etc) to share regional insights/learnings and contribute to respective strategies for key accounts
  • Respond to external inquiries and deliver appropriate clinical and scientific information
  • Represent Mirati at select scientific congresses
  • Stay current in disease state management, emerging therapies and the competitive landscape
  • Adhere to internal standard processes and comply with regulatory and compliance requirements

What is Required

  • Advanced degree in life sciences
  • 10+ years of clinical and/or industry work experience
  • 5+ years in medical roles including leading field teams and with oncology experience
  • Outstanding ability to lead teams
  • Strong track record of execution and operational effectiveness
  • Ability to understand and communicate complex analysis
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Thorough knowledge of local compliance
  • Team orientated and ability to work collaboratively towards common objectives
  • Strong sense of accountability and ability to execute on deliverable
  • Ability to influence externally and internally
  • Travel (50-75%), flexible on location in the US
